This past Sunday, we celebrated Easter, the beautiful reminder that we serve a God who specializes in bringing life out of dead ends and making a way where there is absolutely no way. As the lilies fade and the week begins, I find myself sitting in a state of absolute awe at how the themes of the Resurrection just manifested in my own life.
In my last post, I shared the weight of a new mountain I was facing: a bridge medication that carries a staggering price tag of $30,000 a month. Even with insurance, I was looking at a $9,000 monthly copay. To most, that looks like a closed door. It looks like an impossible situation.
But if this journey with Myelofibrosis, and even my life before this diagnosis, has taught me anything is that God’s bank account is never empty and His timing is never late.
I’ve looked back often at April 2025, when we were blindsided by the news that we had to move our home and our horses. We were facing a $2,500 monthly hurdle and total uncertainty, yet God was already three steps ahead of our panic. He provided then, and I had to trust He would provide now.
And He did.
I am so humbled and overwhelmed to share that over this Easter season, that $9,000 mountain was leveled. Through the incredible advocacy of the pharmacist at UAMS and a manufacturer assistance program, my monthly cost for this medication has been brought down to $0.
When I saw that number, I couldn’t help but think of the Easter message we just celebrated. We talk about the “price being paid,” and while that refers to the ultimate sacrifice for our souls, this week I felt the tangible, physical grace of that truth. I was facing a debt I couldn’t pay, and the way was cleared for me.
This miracle is more than just financial relief; it is a “manna” moment. It is God’s way of saying, “I see you in the waiting. I am in the details of your treatment. I am moving through the hands of pharmacists and the paperwork of programs to sustain you.”
Easter may have been last Sunday, but the power of the Resurrection is a daily reality. I don’t know what mountain you might be standing in front of today, whether it’s a health battle, a financial burden, or a “grey space” where you’re still waiting for an answer, but I hope my journey can be a small beacon of light for you.
The stone was rolled away 2,000 years ago, and He is still rolling stones away today. He is the God of the $0 copay. He is the God of the open door.
Thank you for walking this road with me. Your prayers are being answered in ways I never could have imagined.
He is risen, and He is faithful.
