Wife. Writer. Public servant. Cancer patient. Woman of faith. Still learning to trust God one step at a time.

Hi, I’m Jordan.

I am a wife, writer, emergency management professional, animal lover, and woman of faith living on twenty-five acres in Arkansas with my husband, family, and a collection of animals who frequently become part of the lessons I share.

For years, much of my identity was tied to being dependable – the person who showed up, solved problems, cared for others, and kept moving forward. My work taught me how to help communicate through disasters. My home taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of strong foundations. My writing gave me a place to explore courage, hope, and the stories we carry.

Then illness changed the rhythm of my life.

Walking with Jordan grew from the space between who I had always been and the person I was learning to become. It is where I write honestly about faith, illness, waiting, family, fear, purpose, and the ordinary moments through which God continues to teach me.

I live with Primary myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer that has changed my body, my energy, and the way I think about the future. But it has not erased the life that came before it or the person God created me to be.

I am still a wife who loves her husband. I am still someone who cares deeply about family, animals, community, and meaningful work. I am still an author who builds worlds and finishes stories. I am still learning, still praying, still laughing, and still finding beauty in ordinary days.

Illness is part of my story, but it is not the whole story.

Why I write

I write because I know what it feels like to need encouragement that does not ignore reality.

Faith is not pretending that everything is easy. It is choosing to trust God while admitting that something hurts, that the answer has not come, or that the road ahead is frightening.

My hope is that Walking with Jordan becomes a place where honesty and faith can exist together – a place where people walking through difficult seasons feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that God is still present.

I do not write as someone who has reached the end of the road. I write as someone still walking it.

– 2 Corinthians 12:9

I also write as Jordan Brooke

Under the name Jordan Brooke, I write atmospheric fiction about courage, loyalty, hidden truths, and hope breaking through dark places.

My first published novella, Walking with Shadows: The Secret of Locksburgh, began as a story I carried for nearly fifteen years before finally finding the courage to finish and share it. That journey taught me that delayed does not always mean denied – and that sometimes the dream we nearly abandon is still waiting for us to begin again.

Whether you came because of illness, faith, writing, family, or a difficult season of your own, I hope you find something here that reminds you that your story still matters.

We may not be walking the same road, but we do not have to walk alone.
