The Answer in the Gray Space: My Journey to a Diagnosis
I have lived in the ‘grey space’, a long wilderness between knowing something was wrong and having no real answers. After years of subtle symptoms and ‘normal enough’ labs, a second bone marrow biopsy finally brought the truth into the light: Primary Myelofibrosis. While the diagnosis is heavy, it is also the key to my cure through a stem cell transplant. I’m sharing this raw, real look at my journey to show that even when we are wondering in the wilderness, God is already clearing the path ahead.

Back Story
In April 2025, a sudden text from our landlord threatened to uproot our lives and our horses. We were facing impossible odds and a $2,500 monthly hurdle but God was already three steps ahead of our panic. This is the story of how a forced move became a divine appointment.

The Courage to Begin Again
This Tuesday, my husband begins a new career chapter just weeks before his 40th birthday. Looking back, I see God’s fingerprints woven through a 20-year story neither of us could have written. From putting his own college dreams on hold so I could finish mine, to navigating unexpected layoffs and my cancer diagnosis, none of it was wasted. Maybe you’re facing a daunting new beginning or a closed door today. Remember: God is just as faithful in the waiting as He is in the arrival. He never wastes a single chapter of your story.

Strengthening What Remains
After a predator found a tiny gap in our chicken coop and injured our sweet hen, Teensy, I realized a hard truth: the enemy rarely attacks where we are strong. He looks for the neglected spaces—the small compromises we think don’t matter. But God doesn’t abandon us in our weakness. Just as we are reinforcing our old coop, our Heavenly Father patiently restores our broken places and strengthens what remains. Trust the Master Builder to secure your refuge today.

Deep Roots
We’ve been trying to decide where to plant a weeping willow on our 25-acre farm. Willows stretch their roots incredible distances to find water, meaning they require careful placement. It made me realize: everything we admire above ground depends entirely on what exists beneath it. This year, cancer shook my world, but the diagnosis didn’t create my faith—it revealed it. Long before I ever heard the words ‘Primary Myelofibrosis,’ God was growing deep roots. The storms will come, but when our roots run deep into Christ, we don’t have to fear the heat.

Purpose Was Never Lost, Just Redirected
Before cancer entered my story, my purpose was deeply tied to my 13-year career in emergency management. But a diagnosis didn’t take away my purpose—it revealed that God had a bigger one all along. When you work for the approval of people, disappointment is inevitable. But when you work for the Lord, your audience never changes. He sees every unseen effort. If you’ve been questioning your calling lately, don’t assume God is finished with you just because life looks different. Your purpose hasn’t vanished; it’s simply been redirected. Trust the Author of your story.

The Cost of a Weak Fence: Lessons on Boundaries and Survival
Every fence post and retaining wall on our farm has a purpose: protection. We don’t build them because the land is unwelcoming, but because healthy things require it. It’s the same with our hearts. We often let invasive ‘vines’ into our lives—disrespect, compromise, or toxic dynamics—convinced that surrendering our boundaries brings peace. But it doesn’t. It just gives away our ground. If you’re feeling exhausted by defending your worth, remember: the strongest boundaries aren’t built out of fear. They’re built out of faith that your peace—and your future—is worth protecting.

From Sea to Shining Sea: Finding God’s Hand Across America
I’ve lived in five states and visited 29. From the snow of New Hampshire to the beaches of Florida, the roads of Texas, and the peaks of North Carolina, I’ve seen how God paints this country. Now, looking out over our twenty-five acres in Arkansas, I’m reminded of an unchanging truth. Amid a heavy cancer journey, standing in His creation alters my perspective. The scenery and accents change, but God never does. The One who painted America is still faithfully writing my story.

The Heavy Artillery of the Journey
After months of living with cancer, it’s easy to feel like your body has become the enemy. Every new symptom makes you question what’s failing next. But a middle-of-the-night ER visit reminded me that even though my body isn’t perfect, it is still working. It is still trying. It is still fighting for me. If you are carrying a hidden battle today, remember: strength isn’t always pushing harder. Sometimes strength is knowing when to ask for help—and trusting that God is working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it yet.

The Phantom Pressure: Whispers of Doubt, the ER, and Why We Have to Keep Fighting
Last night, a silent sinus infection turned into level-10 nerve agony, landing me in the ER. But the hardest part wasn’t the pain—it was the whisper of doubt: If you can’t handle this, how will you handle chemotherapy? Fear loves to take today’s temporary weakness and turn it into a permanent verdict on your future. But God doesn’t give us tomorrow’s strength today; He gives us today’s grace. The latest blog post is a raw look at finding faith when you’re brought to your knees.

Trusting the Timeline: An Update on My UAMS Journey
Here is a quick update after my recent UAMS transplant team visit. I’m walking away with incredible peace, knowing God is in control. Right now, we are focused on monitoring. My medication, Ojjaara, doesn’t stop the progression of fibrosis, but it has been a godsend for managing symptoms—the difference in my blood work from my first visit to now is night and day! We have scans and a biopsy scheduled through August, leading up to a big follow-up in September to decide next steps. Thank you for the prayers as I trust His perfect timing!

A Cord of Three Strands
The wedding day is often painted as the grand finale—the fairy-tale ending where everything finally falls into place. But anyone who has been in the thick of a marriage knows the truth: the wedding is just the prologue. After seventeen years with the man who still holds my hand through every storm, including a recent cancer diagnosis, I’ve learned that a resilient marriage isn’t built on two strong people. It’s built on two fragile people clinging to a strong God.
