Over the past year, our lives have been shaped by more unexpected changes than we ever could have anticipated. We moved into a new home, welcomed our nephew into our family, adjusted to new responsibilities, and then received a diagnosis that changed the way we looked at the future.

I have been diagnosed with primary myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and the body’s ability to produce healthy blood cells. While treatment is helping manage some of my symptoms, it is not a cure, and there are still difficult days when fatigue, pain, weakness, and uncertainty affect nearly every part of life.

Through all of it, we have continued to see God’s provision. He has gone before us in ways we could not have planned, and we trust that He will continue to guide us one step at a time.

Where the journey stands today

I am currently under the care of a transplant team and have entered the donor-search process. A stem cell transplant may eventually become necessary, but the exact timing remains uncertain.

That uncertainty creates its own kind of preparation. A transplant would involve an extended hospital stay, months of required housing near the transplant center, frequent monitoring, caregiving needs, time away from work, and a long recovery period. Even before transplant, ongoing appointments, medications, and the physical limitations caused by my illness continue to affect our household.

We are trying to prepare wisely without living entirely in fear of what may come.

How support helps

Medical and treatment expenses

Copays, medications, specialist appointment, testing, and other health-related costs that are not fully covered by insurance

Travel and temporary housing

If transplant moves forward, I will need to remain near the transplant center for an extended period after leaving the hospital. Support may help with lodging, meals, transportation, and the costs of being away from home.

Household stability

Treatment and recovery may require time away from work while Chris balances his job, caregiving, family responsibilities, and the needs of our home.

Preparing for the unexpected

With a serious illness, new expenses can appear quickly. Financial support helps provide a little breathing room when plans change, symptoms worsen, or additional care becomes necessary.

There are many ways to walk with us

Financial support is deeply appreciated, but it is not the only way to help.

We value your prayers more than we can adequately express. Pray for wisdom as we make treatment decisions, strength for the difficult days, peace in the waiting, protection over our family, and continued trust in God’s timing.

Sharing this page can also help us reach people who may feel led to support the journey. A message, encouraging word, or reminder that someone is praying can make a difficult day feel much less lonely.

Thank you for walking with us

Asking for help is not easy for us. We are accustomed to working, serving, solving problems, and doing what needs to be done. Learning to receive support has become part of this journey too.

Whether you give, pray, share, or simply continue reading and encouraging us, thank you. You remind us that even on the hardest roads, God often provides through the people He places beside us.

We do not know every detail of what comes next, but we know we will not walk it alone.
